ULTIMATE VICTORY

Romans 8:37-39

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors 

through Him who loved us. 

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 

nor height nor depth, 

nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What does it mean to be MORE than conquerors? We usually think of something that has been conquered to be completely beaten and the most that can be done to defeat the opposition. What we need to find out, is what it means to be more than what we consider to be the highest point of victory.

Though our enemy in this spiritual battle is strong, the Lord’s side will always have the ultimate victory. Because we are children of God, we are soldiers in the army of the Lord. Because we are His soldiers, we are on the victor’s side. This is what makes us conquerors.

But what is more? When we continue reading the rest of the passage, we realize that the “more” being spoken of in this passage is: everlasting victory. Our finite minds tend to only acknowledge the victory of forgiveness that we are given in this life, when really there are so many blessings the Lord has for us that we have yet to tap into!

So now we know that what this passage is talking about when it says “more than conquerors.” More is something much greater than what we know in this life. We can see that as a child of God, nothing in the spiritual realm or the physical realm can EVER separate us from the love of God. This is how we are more than conquerors; we have victory over the clutches of sin forever!
